# Zweedse lijsterbes

## Sorbus intermedia 'Brouwers'

Zweedse lijsterbes (Sorbus intermedia) is een middelgrote loofvallende boom die 8-12 meter hoog wordt met geveerde bladeren die witviltig behaard zijn aan de onderzijde. Deze Scandinavische boom bloeit rijkelijk in mei met witte schermen van bloemen, gevolgd door oranje-rode bessen in de herfst. De bladeren hebben een zilveren glans en kleuren geel-oranje in de herfst.

De boom is zeer winterhard en verdraagt stedelijke omstandigheden uitstekend, beter dan gewone lijsterbes. Groeit matig snel en heeft een regelmatige, ovale kroon. Bessen zijn geliefd bij vogels, maar bitter voor mensen. Zeer geschikt voor straatbeplanting door tolerantie voor vervuiling en verdichte grond. Zweedse lijsterbes is perfect voor stedelijke omgevingen en klimaatbestendige beplanting.

##  Belangrijke zaken om te weten 

### Waar plaatsen

Zweedse lijsterbes stelt weinig eisen aan de bodem. Hij groeit optimaal op een kalkrijke grond en hij verdraagt droogte.

### Onderhoud

Plant Zweedse lijsterbes op zonnige plek in normale tot arme grond. Zeer tolerant voor moeilijke omstandigheden.

Snoei in winter voor vorm indien nodig. Verwijder waterloten en kruisende takken.

Water eerste jaar, daarna zeer droogtetolerant. Onderhoudsarm en geschikt voor extensief beheer.
