# Zonneroosje

## Helianthemum sp.

Zonneroosje (Helianthemum nummularium) is een lage mediterrane struik met kleine bladeren en delicate bloemen in geel, wit, roze of oranje die uitstekend geschikt is voor rotstuinen waar droogteverdragzaamheid en lange bloei gewenst zijn. Deze plant wordt 15-30 cm hoog en heeft kleine, ovale bladeren met vijfbladige bloemen die mei-september verschijnen en elke ochtend vers openen.

De bloemen zijn delicaat en papierachtig en openen elke ochtend vers voor een dag. Plant heeft compacte, kussenachtige groei en wintergroene bladeren. Bloemt weken achtereen met dagelijkse verse bloemen. Zonneroosje is essentieel voor rotstuinen waar mediterrane effecten en lange bloeiperiodes centraal staan.

##  Belangrijke zaken om te weten 

### Waar plaatsen

Zonneroosje verkiest een ​stenige, kalkrijke, droge of goed doorlatende bodem. Geef de plant een beschutte plaats voor de winterse uitdrogende en zeer koude oostenwind. Plantdichtheid: 5 - 12 per m²

### Cultivars (Soorten)

'Henfield Brilliant' heeft rode, enkele bloempjes en een grijs blad; 'Wisley Primrose' is een sterkgroeiende halfstruikje met grijsgroen, smal blad en in het voorjaar en de zomer zwavelgele bloemen.

### Onderhoud

Plant zonneroosje in volle zon in zeer goed doorlatende, schrale grond. Drainage is cruciaal voor succes.

Water zeer spaarzaam - plant is aangepast aan mediterrane droogte. Te veel water schaadt plant.

Snoei licht na hoofdbloei voor tweede bloei. Plant heeft minimaal onderhoud nodig.

### Dit wist je nog niet:

Zonneroosje komt oorspronkelijk uit het Middellandse Zee gebied en werd al in kloosters gekweekt vanwege zijn geneeskrachtige eigenschappen.

De plant wordt gewaardeerd in moderne rotstuinen vanwege zijn droogtetolerantie en geschiktheid voor klimaatverandering-bestendige tuinen.
