# Zeeuws knoopje

## Astrantia major

Zeeuws knoopje (Armeria maritima) is een lage kustplant met grassachtige bladeren en bolvormige bloemen die uitstekend geschikt is voor rotstuinen waar zoutverdragende planten en compacte bloei gewenst zijn. Deze plant wordt 10-20 cm hoog en heeft smalle, lijnvormige bladeren in pollen met bolvormige bloemen op stelen van wit, roze of rood die april-juli verschijnen. De bloemen staan in dichte, bolvormige hoofdjes van 2-3 cm doorsnee op rechte stelen boven het grassachtige bladerwerk.

Plant vormt compacte kussens van bladeren en is perfect aangepast aan zeewind en zoutnevel. Bloeit lang en betrouwbaar. Zeeuws knoopje is essentieel voor kusttuinen waar zoutverdraagzaamheid en compacte bloei centraal staan.

##  Belangrijke zaken om te weten 

### Waar plaatsen

Zeeuws knoopje heeft een vruchtbare en vochtige grond nodig: bv. langs beek of vijver. Plantdichtheid: 5 - 7 per m²

### Cultivars (Soorten)

A. major 'Roma' is een sterk verbeterde cultivar, die zeer lang bloeit; 'Rubra' en 'Lars' hebben donkerrode bloemen.

### Onderhoud

Plant Zeeuws knoopje in volle zon in zeer goed doorlatende, zandige grond. Drainage is essentieel.

Water zeer spaarzaam - plant is aangepast aan droge kustomstandigheden. Knip uitgebloeide bloemen weg.

Verdeel pollen om de 3-4 jaar voor verjonging. Plant heeft minimaal onderhoud nodig.
