Waaierbloem (Scaevola aemula) is een Australische hangplant met vlezige bladeren en waaierachtige bloemen die uitstekend geschikt is voor hangbakken waar cascaderende bloei en droogteverdraagzaamheid gewenst zijn. Deze plant wordt 20-40 cm hoog met uitlopers tot 60 cm en heeft ovale, vlezige bladeren met bloemen die alleen aan een kant bloemblaadjes hebben, wat waaierachtig effect geeft, in blauw, paars, wit of roze. De bloemen hebben unieke asymmetrische vorm - vijf bloemblaadjes aan een kant zoals een waaier. Plant heeft vlezige bladeren voor wateropslag en cascaderende groeiwijze. Bloeit ononderbroken van mei tot vorst en verdraagt warmte goed. Waaierbloem is perfect voor containers waar hittebestendige hangplanten en unieke bloemvormen centraal staan. De plant heeft vrij veel water nodig. De bodem dient goed doorlatend te zijn en voedselrijk. Plantdichtheid: 4 - 6 per m² ### Onderhoud Plant waaierbloem in volle zon in goed doorlatende potgrond. Plant verdraagt warmte en droogte uitstekend. Water regelmatig maar laat grond tussen watergiften opdrogen. Bemest maandelijks voor optimale bloei. Knip lange uitlopers terug indien gewenst voor compactere vorm.
