# Struisriet

## Calamogrostis x acutiflora

Struisriet (Calamagrostis x acutiflora) is een elegant siergras met rechte halmen en vedervormige pluimen die uitstekend geschikt is voor moderne borders waar architecturale grassen en beweging gewenst zijn. Deze plant wordt 120-180 cm hoog en heeft smalle bladeren met luchtige bloempluimen die juni-juli verschijnen en tot diep in winter decoratief blijven.

De pluimen zijn aanvankelijk paars-roze en verkleuren naar goud-beige in herfst. Plant groeit in strakke pollen zonder uitlopers en heeft rechtopstaande groeiwijze. Bladeren hebben mooie herfstverkleuring en winterstructuur is uitstekend. Struisriet is essentieel voor moderne tuinen waar architecturale grassen en seizoensstructuur centraal staan.

##  Belangrijke zaken om te weten 

### Waar plaatsen

Struisriet heeft voor een goede groei een standplaats in de volle zon tot lichte schaduw nodig. De bodem dient voedselrijk, vochthoudend en eerder kalkrijk te zijn. Plantdichtheid: 2 - 3 per m²

### Onderhoud

Plant struisriet in volle zon tot lichte schaduw in normale tuingrond. Plant groeit in verschillende omstandigheden.

Knip in maart terug tot 15 cm boven grond. Laat winterstructuur staan voor decoratieve waarde.

Water eerste jaar regelmatig. Gevestigde plant is droogteverdragend. Verdeel pollen om de 5-7 jaar.
