# Spierstruik - Spirea (Snowmound)

## Spiraea nipponica ‘Snowmound’

Spierstruik-Spirea 'Snowmound' (Spiraea nipponica 'Snowmound') is een compacte struik met kleine bladeren en massa's witte bloemen die de plant bedekken als een sneeuwberg, perfect voor borders en solitaire beplanting. Deze struik wordt 120-150 cm hoog en breed en heeft kleine, ovale bladeren met dichte clusters van witte bloemen die mei-juni verschijnen.

De bloemen zijn zuiver wit en verschijnen in zo een overvloed dat het bladerwerk nauwelijks zichtbaar is tijdens bloei. Plant heeft compacte, bolvormige groei en bloeit betrouwbaar elk jaar. Cultivar werd geselecteerd voor intense witte bloei en compacte vorm. Spierstruik 'Snowmound' is perfect voor tuinen waar witte voorjaarsbloei en compacte struikvormen centraal staan.

##  Belangrijke zaken om te weten 

### Waar plaatsen

Spiraea nipponica ‘Snowmound’ stelt geen eisen aan de bodem. Hij staat mooi in haagvorm, maar ook als solitair komt hij volledig tot zijn recht.

### Onderhoud

Plant spirea 'Snowmound' in volle zon tot lichte schaduw in normale tuingrond. Plant bloeit het best in vol zonlicht.

Snoei direct na bloei indien nodig. Plant behoudt natuurlijke compacte vorm goed zonder intensieve snoei.

Water eerste jaar regelmatig. Gevestigde plant is onderhoudsarm en verdraagt droogte redelijk goed.

'Snowmound' toont hoe selectieve kweek kan leiden tot cultivars die specifieke tuinontwerp-doeleinden dienen.
