Sleutelbloem (Primula veris) is een inheemse voorjaarsbloem met rozetten van gerimpelde bladeren en clusters van gele bloemen die een van de eerste tekenen van de lente zijn en belangrijk voor vroege bijen. Deze plant wordt 10-25 cm hoog en heeft ovale, gerimpelde bladeren met clusters van geurende, gele bloemen die maart-mei verschijnen op rechte stelen. De bloemen hangen in eenzijdige schermen en hebben een zoete geur. Bladeren zijn lichtgroen en gerimpeld met behaarde onderkant. Plant groeit vanuit een rozet en vermenigvuldigt zich via zelfzaai en worteluitlopers. Sleutelbloem is essentieel voor natuurlijke tuinen waar inheemse wilde bloemen en vroege bijenvoeding centraal staan.
