# Siberische edelweis

## Anaphalis triplinervis

Siberische edelweis (Leontopodium alpinum) is een laagblijvende vaste plant die 10-20 cm hoog wordt met karakteristieke witte, wollige bloemen en zilvergrijze bladeren. Deze bergplant bloeit van juni tot augustus met stervormige bloemen die lijken op witte vilten sterren. De gehele plant is bedekt met zilverwitte haartjes die bescherming bieden tegen UV-straling en uitdroging.

De plant groeit het beste in arme, goed doorlatende grond en heeft uitstekende drainage nodig. Komt oorspronkelijk uit de Alpen en andere berggebieden. Symboliseert moed en liefde in de Alpenvolkeren. Zeer winterhard maar gevoelig voor te vochtige omstandigheden. Ideaal voor rotstuinen en alpine collecties. Siberische edelweis is perfect voor rotstuinen en alpine plantingen.

##  Belangrijke zaken om te weten 

### Waar plaatsen

Siberische edelweis doet het goed in elke goed doorlaatbare, eerder droge bodem. Hij staat graag in de volle zon tot halfschaduw.

### Onderhoud

Plant edelweis in volle zon in arme, zeer goed doorlatende grond. Voeg grit toe voor drainage.

Snoei niet, laat natuurlijk groeien. Verwijder alleen dode delen in voorjaar.

Water zeer spaarzaam, alleen bij extreme droogte. Plant verdraagt droogte beter dan vocht.
