# Schijnhazelaar

## Corylopsis pauciflora

Schijnhazelaar (Corylopsis pauciflora) is een kleine loofvallende struik die 1-2 meter hoog wordt en vroeg in het voorjaar bloeit met hangende trossen van gele bloemen voordat de bladeren verschijnen. Deze Japanse struik heeft hartvormige bladeren die in de herfst geel kleuren. De geurende bloemen verschijnen in maart-april en zijn een van de eerste nectarbronnen voor bijen.

De struik heeft een brede, uitgespreid groeiwijze en groeit langzaam. Jonge takken zijn vaak roodachtig. Heeft zure grond nodig en beschutting tegen koude wind. Bloeit op eenjarig hout dus voorzichtig snoeien. Zeer winterhard eens gevestigd maar jonge planten hebben bescherming nodig. Schijnhazelaar is perfect voor voorjaarstuinen en natuurlijke borders.

##  Belangrijke zaken om te weten 

### Waar plaatsen

De schijnhazelaar wordt het best enkele uren in de zon gezet en de resterende uren in de halfschaduw. Deze plant kan in alle grondsoorten geplant worden.

### Onderhoud

Plant schijnhazelaar in halfschaduw in zure, vochtige grond. Beschut tegen koude wind planten.

Snoei direct na bloei indien nodig. Bloeit op eenjarig hout dus voorzichtig snoeien.

Water regelmatig met zacht water. Mulch met zure materialen voor optimale groeiomstandigheden.

Schijnhazelaar komt uit Japan en werd geïntroduceerd vanwege de zeer vroege, geurende bloei die waardevolle vroege bijenvoeding biedt.
