Deze 1-2 meter hoge struik bloeit rijkelijk in april-mei en soms opnieuw in de herfst. De groene stengels blijven decoratief in de winter en de gezaagde bladeren kleuren geel in de herfst. De struik vormt uitlopers en kan zich uitbreiden tot mooie groepen. Groeit in zon en schaduw en kan zich gemakkelijke aanpassen. De cultuvaar 'Pleniflora' heeft dubbele bloemen en is het meest populair. Bloeit op eenjarig hout, dus voorzichtig snoeien na de bloei. Ranonkelstruik is perfect voor natuurlijke tuinen en schaduwplekken. Wanneer hij eenmaal doorworteld is, is hij droogtetolerant. De ranonkelstruik staat mooi in bakken of als losse haag. Plant de ranonkelstruik als haag op een plantafstand van 50 cm per lopende meter. Voor een brede haag wordt een dubbele rij aangeplant met 30 à 40 cm onderlinge afstand tussen de rijen. ### Cultivars (Soorten) 'Golden Guinea' bloeit met enkele bloemen. ### Onderhoud Plant ranonkelstruik in zon tot schaduw in doorlatende grond. Zeer tolerant voor verschillende omstandigheden. Snoei direct na bloei door oude takken weg te nemen. Verwijder uitlopers voor compacte groei of laat uitbreiden. Water alleen bij extreme droogte. Zeer onderhoudsarm eens gevestigd. Geef jaarlijks compost voor optimale bloei. ### Dit wist je nog niet: Ranonkelstruik komt oorspronkelijk uit Japan en China en werd in de 18e eeuw geïntroduceerd in Europa vanwege zijn vroege gele bloei.
