Ranonkel (Ranunculus asiaticus) is een bolgewas met gevulde, papierachtige bloemen in felle kleuren zoals geel, oranje, roze, rood en wit. Deze voorjaarsbloeier wordt 25-40 cm hoog en bloeit van april tot juni met opvallende, rozetvormige bloemen die perfect zijn als snijbloem. De knolletjes lijken op kleine klauwtjes. Plant ranonkels in de herfst voor voorjaarsbloei, of als voorjaarsplant voor zomerbloei. De bloemen hebben vele lagen dunne blaadjes en geven een romantische uitstraling. Na de bloei sterft het loof af en gaat de knol in rust. Niet volledig winterhard, haal knollen op in koude gebieden. Ranonkel is perfect voor kleurrijke voorjaarsdisplays en snijtuinen. Hij bloeit het mooist in een voedselrijke, goed doorlatende bodem. Kan in de tuin, op het terras of binnen. Zet in huis op een koele, lichte plek bv. de slaapkamer en zorg dat ze niet uitdroogt. Plantdichtheid: 6 - 9 per m² ### Onderhoud Plant ranonkels in herfst in goed doorlatende grond op zonnige plek. Week knollen voor planten in lauw water. Water gematigd tijdens groei, vermijd waterophoping. Laat loof natuurlijk afsterven na bloei voor knolvoeding. Licht knollen op na eerste vorst in koude gebieden. Bewaar droog en vorstvrij. Vervang knollen om de 2-3 jaar. ### Dit wist je nog niet: Ranonkels komen oorspronkelijk uit het Middellandse Zee gebied en werden in de 16e eeuw populair in Europese tuinen voor hun gevulde bloemen.
