# Parasolden

## Pinus pinea

Parasolden (Cyperus alternifolius) is een elegante waterplant met driekantige stengels die eindigen in stervormige kransen van smalle groene blaadjes. Deze plant wordt 60-100 cm hoog en heeft een grafische, architecturale uitstraling. De 'parasols' aan de top geven de plant zijn karakteristieke verschijning.

De plant houdt van veel water en kan zelfs permanent met de voeten in het water staan. Groeit in pollen en vormt nieuwe scheuten vanuit de wortelstok. Brengt een zen-achtige rust in moderne interieurs en is zeer decoratief voor minimalistische inrichtingen. Parasolden is perfect voor waterrijke plekken en moderne tuinstijlen.

##  Belangrijke zaken om te weten 

### Waar plaatsen

De parasolden groeit makkelijk in zanderige grond, ook aan de kust. Hij is goed bestand tegen wind. Het is een typische Middelandse Zee-boom.

### Onderhoud

Plaats parasolden op lichte plek zonder direct zonlicht. Hoge luchtvochtigheid is belangrijk voor gezonde groei.

Houd grond constant vochtig tot nat. Pot mag permanent in ondiepe schotel water staan. Nooit laten uitdrogen.

Knip bruine stengels weg aan de basis. Deel grote planten in voorjaar. Geef in groeiseizoen maandelijks voeding.
