# Narcis

## Narcissus sp.

Narcis (Narcissus) is een populaire voorjaarsbol met karakteristieke bloemen bestaande uit zes bloemblaadjes rond een centrale trompet of napje in geel of wit, essentieel voor voorjaarstuin en naturalisatie. Deze veelzijdige bolplant wordt 15-50 cm hoog en bloeit februari-mei afhankelijk van soort, met bloemen die vaak intensief geuren.

De bloemen hebben zes buitenste bloemblaadjes (tepalen) rond een centrale corona die kort (napje) of lang (trompet) kan zijn. Plant groeit vanuit bollen en vermenigvuldigt zich via dochterbolletjes. Bladeren zijn lintvormig en sterven af na bloei om bol te voeden. Narcis is essentieel voor voorjaarstuinen waar massa-effecten en geur gewenst zijn.

##  Belangrijke zaken om te weten 

### Waar plaatsen

Narcissen groeien het beste op een zonnige plek met minimaal zes uur direct zonlicht per dag. Ze hebben goed doorlatende, vruchtbare grond nodig en moeten worden geplant op een plek met goede waterafvoer om rotting te voorkomen. Bescherm ze tegen harde wind en overweeg om ze in tuinbedden, borders, potten of containers te planten, afhankelijk van je voorkeur. Houd rekening met de specifieke vereisten van de narcissenvariëteit en je lokale klimaat. Geniet van de kleurrijke bloemen die ze in het vroege voorjaar zullen brengen!

### Cultivars (Soorten)

Er zijn verschillende soorten narcissen om uit te kiezen, variërend in grootte, kleur en bloemvorm. De meest bekende is de trompetnarcis met zijn grote trompetvormige bloem. Jonquils hebben kleinere, geurende bloemen, terwijl tazetta-narcissen meerdere bloemen per stengel hebben. Miniaturenarcissen hebben kleine, wilde bloemachtige vormen. Er zijn ook narcissen met gevulde bloemen voor een dichtere, vollere uitstraling. Kies een soort die bij je voorkeur en groeiomstandigheden past, en geniet van de kleurrijke en geurige bloemen!

### Onderhoud

Plant narcisbollen in herfst 10-15 cm diep in volle zon tot halfschaduw. Bollen hebben goede drainage nodig.

Laat bladeren volledig afsterven na bloei om bollen te voeden. Verstoor niet tijdens zomerrust.

Water tijdens droge voorjaarsperiodes. Verdeel overvolle groepen om de 4-5 jaar voor betere bloei.

Narcis is vernoemd naar Griekse mythe van Narcissus die verliefd werd op eigen spiegelbeeld. Symboliseert eigenliefde.

Plant biedt belangrijke vroege nectar aan bijen wanneer weinig anders beschikbaar is. Giftige eigenschappen beschermen tegen vraat.
