# Leliegras

## Liriope muscari

Leliegras (Anthericum liliago) is een elegante vaste plant met smalle, grassachtige bladeren en witte, stervormige bloemen in losse aren die lijken op kleine lelies. Deze inheemse plant wordt 40-80 cm hoog en bloeit juni-juli met bloemen die 's avonds geuren en nachtvlinders aantrekken.

De bloemen hebben zes witte bloemblaadjes rond gele meeldraden en staan in losse trossen boven het grasachtige bladerwerk. Plant vormt pollen vanuit vlezige wortels en breidt zich langzaam uit. Na bloei ontwikkelen zich kleine zaaddozen. Leliegras is essentieel voor natuurlijke tuinen waar inheemse zeldzaamheden en subtiele schoonheid gewaardeerd worden.

##  Belangrijke zaken om te weten 

### Waar plaatsen

​Sterke bodembedekker die het ook onder een boom goed doet. In de zon worden de bladeren lichtgroen. Wil je snel een dichte bedekking, plant dan op 15 cm afstand. Na 2 jaar is de bodem bedekt. Plantdichtheid: 6 - 8 per m²

### Cultivars (Soorten)

Ingwersen bloeit rijker, met donkerpaarse bloemen; Monroe White bloeit wit; Big Blue wordt hoger en groeit en bloeit wat losser; Variegata heeft een geel opvallend randje rond z'n blad.

### Onderhoud

Plant leliegras in volle zon in goed doorlatende, kalkrijke, schrale grond. Plant verdraagt geen rijke of vochtige omstandigheden.

Geen onderhoud nodig - plant zorgt voor zichzelf in juiste omstandigheden. Verstoor zo min mogelijk.

Water alleen bij extreme droogte eerste jaar. Geen bemesting - plant groeit het best in arme grond.

Leliegras is indicatorplant voor kalkgraslanden en groeit alleen op zeer specifieke, schrale bodems. Belangrijk voor biodiversiteit.

Plant wordt bedreigd door intensieve landbouw en vermesting. Staat op Rode Lijst van bedreigde plantensoorten.
