# Kransspirea

## Stephanandra incisa 'Crispa’

Kransspirea (Spiraea × vanhouttei) is een sierlijke struik met overhangede takken die in mei-juni volledig bedekt worden met clusters van kleine witte bloemen, gevolgd door kleine, gezaagde bladeren die in herfst oranje-rood verkleuren. Deze hybride struik wordt 150-200 cm hoog en breed en heeft een elegante, fonteinachtige groeiwijze.

De bloemen verschijnen in dichte schermen langs de gehele lengte van de takken en bedekken de struik zo volledig dat het bladerwerk nauwelijks zichtbaar is. Na bloei ontwikkelen zich kleine, ruitvormige bladeren die de struik ook na bloei decoratief houden. Kransspirea is essentieel voor klassieke tuinen waar elegante voorjaarsbloei en natuurlijke vorm gewenst zijn.

##  Belangrijke zaken om te weten 

### Waar plaatsen

Kransspirea doet het goed in alle, goed gedraineerde grondsoorten.

### Onderhoud

Plant kransspirea in volle zon tot lichte schaduw in normale tuingrond. Struik is zeer aanpassingsvermogen en groeit in verschillende grondsoorten.

Snoei direct na bloei door oude takken te verkorten. Respecteer natuurlijke overhangde vorm - geen strakke snoei.

Water eerste jaren regelmatig. Gevestigde struiken zijn droogteverdragend. Geen bemesting nodig - struik is zeer onderhoudsarm.

### Dit wist je nog niet:

Kransspirea is hybride tussen twee Aziatische soorten en werd eind 19de eeuw ontwikkeld. Plant is vernoemd naar Louis Van Houtte.

Struik symboliseert elegantie en wordt veel gebruikt in klassieke tuinontwerpen. Bloemen zijn geliefd bij vroege bijen en andere bestuivers.
