# Kaukasisch vergeet-me-nietje

## Brunnera macrophylla

Kaukasisch vergeet-me-nietje (Brunnera macrophylla) is een elegante schaduwplant met grote, hartvormige bladeren en wolken van kleine blauwe bloemen die lijken op vergeet-me-nietjes maar veel groter blad hebben. Deze vaste plant wordt 30-40 cm hoog en bloeit april-mei met dichte trossen hemelsblauwe bloemen boven het opkomende bladerwerk.

Na de bloei ontwikkelen zich grote, decoratieve bladeren die tot 20 cm breed kunnen worden en de hele zomer interessant blijven. Bonte cultivars zoals 'Jack Frost' hebben zilveren bladtekeningen die schaduwhoeken verlichten. Kaukasisch vergeet-me-nietje is essentieel voor schaduwtuinen waar voorjaarsbloei gecombineerd met decoratief zomerblad gewenst is.

##  Belangrijke zaken om te weten 

### Waar plaatsen

Kaukasisch vergeet-me-nietje plant je in een frisse tot vochtige, humusrijke bodem op een plaatsje in de halfschaduw tot schaduw. Plantdichtheid: 5 - 7 per m²

### Cultivars (Soorten)

B. macrophylla 'Hadspen Cream' heeft een lichter groen blad met een roomwitte rand en lichtblauwe bloemen.

### Onderhoud

Plant Kaukasisch vergeet-me-nietje in halfschaduw tot schaduw in vochtige, humusrijke grond. Plant verdraagt geen droogte of felle zon.

Water regelmatig om grond vochtig te houden. Mulch rond planten helpt vocht vasthouden en onkruiden onderdrukken.

Verwijder uitgebloeide bloemen en verdeel pollen om de 4-5 jaar. Bonte cultivars hebben meer licht nodig dan groene vormen.

Brunnera komt uit de Kaukasus en werd eind 19de eeuw in Europa geïntroduceerd. Plant zorgt voor zichzelf eens gevestigd.

Moderne bonte cultivars zijn ontstaan door selectie en zijn zeer populair voor het verlichten van donkere tuinhoeken.
