# Japanse dwergbuxus

## Buxus microphylla 'Rococo'

Japanse dwergbuxus (Buxus microphylla) is een wintergroene struik met zeer kleine, glanzende bladeren die uitstekend geschikt is voor lage hagen, topiary en borders waar compacte, wintergroene structuur gewenst is. Deze langzaam groeiende plant blijft natuurlijk laag (30-60 cm) en heeft betere winterhardheid dan gewone buxus.

De kleine bladeren zijn ovaal en donkergroen met een glanzende textuur die het hele jaar decoratief effect geeft. Plant groeit zeer compact en dicht, waardoor het perfect is voor formele vormen en lage afboordingen die scherp gedefinieerd moeten blijven. Japanse dwergbuxus is essentieel voor formele tuinen en moderne ontwerpen waar compacte, wintergroene structuur het hele jaar belangrijk is.

##  Belangrijke zaken om te weten 

### Onderhoud

Plant Japanse dwergbuxus in halfschaduw tot zon in goed doorlatende, humusrijke grond. Plant verdraagt verschillende grondsoorten maar groeit best in vochtige omgeving.

Snoei regelmatig voor vorm - 2-3 keer per jaar tijdens groeiseizoen. Gebruik scherp gereedschap voor nette snijvlakken.

Water regelmatig eerste jaren. Mulch rond planten helpt vocht vasthouden. Bemest in voorjaar met organische mest.

Japanse dwergbuxus is minder gevoelig voor buxusziekte dan gewone buxus en wordt daarom steeds populairder als alternatief.

Plant wordt al eeuwen gebruikt in Japanse tuinen voor lage hagen en vormgesnoeide accenten. Symboliseert eeuwigheid en standvastigheid.
