Goudsbloem (Calendula officinalis) is een vrolijke eenjarige plant die de hele zomer lang bloeit met heldere bloemen in tinten van lichtgeel tot diep oranje. Deze mediterrane plant heeft spatelvormige bladeren en madeliefjesachtige bloemen die blijven bloeien tot de eerste zware vorst. De plant zaait zichzelf gemakkelijk uit en komt jaar na jaar terug op plekken waar zij zich thuis voelt. Goudsbloem heeft een lange geschiedenis als geneeskrachtige plant en wordt nog steeds gebruikt in natuurlijke huidverzorging. Plantdichtheid: 10 - 12 per m² ### Cultivars (Soorten) ​*'Geisga Girl'; 'Pacific Beauty-serie' en 'Princess'* zijn zeer mooie cultivars. ### Onderhoud Zaai goudsbloem in voorjaar direct op plaats in volle zon tot lichte schaduw. Plant groeit in arme tot rijke grond maar bloeit rijker in matig vruchtbare omstandigheden. Knip uitgebloeide bloemen regelmatig weg voor continue bloei. Laat einde seizoen enkele bloemen zaad zetten voor natuurlijke verjonging. Water bij droogte maar plant verdraagt enige verwaarlozing goed. Te veel bemesting geeft veel blad ten koste van bloemen. ### Dit wist je nog niet: Goudsbloem wordt al eeuwenlang gebruikt voor wondverzorging en huidproblemen. Moderne onderzoek bevestigt de ontstekingsremmende eigenschappen. Plant trekt nuttige insecten aan en helpt natuurlijke vijanden van plagen te behouden.
