Deze compacte struik bloeit hoofdzakelijk in mei-juni met mogelijk een tweede bloei in herfst, en verspreidt een heerlijke citrusgeur. De plant heeft aromatische bladeren die bij aanraking een frisse geur afgeven en vormt natuurlijk een ronde, compacte vorm van 1,5-2 meter hoog. De witte bloemen verschijnen in clusters en zijn zeer geliefd bij bijen en vlinders. Mexicaanse oranjebloesem is perfect voor geurtuinen en borders waar wintergroene structuur met geurende bloei gewenst is. Deze plant kan tegen koude en wind. Hij heeft wel voldoende direct zonlicht nodig. ### Onderhoud Plant Mexicaanse oranjebloesem in volle zon tot halfschaduw in goed doorlatende grond. Plant verdraagt verschillende grondsoorten maar houdt niet van natte voeten. Snoei spaarzaam na bloei voor tweede bloeiperiode. Plant houdt natuurlijk compacte vorm en verdraagt vormgeving goed. Water eerste jaar regelmatig voor vestiging. Eenmaal gevestigd zeer droogteverdragend en onderhoudsarm. ### Dit wist je nog niet: Plant wordt ook 'mock orange' genoemd vanwege gelijkenis met echte oranjebloesem. Cultivar 'Sundance' heeft goudgele bladeren. Bladeren kunnen gebruikt worden voor geurende potpourri.
