# Dubbelloof

## Blechnum spicant

Dubbelloof (Hepatica nobilis) is een charmante voorjaarsbloemer die als een van de eerste planten het bos opfleurt met delicate blauwe, roze of witte bloemetjes. Deze inheemse schaduwplant heeft karakteristieke drielobbige bladeren die overwinteren en vormt langzaam uitbreidende tapijten onder bomen en struiken.

De plant bloeit maart-april voordat de bladeren van loofbomen uitlopen en het bos donker wordt. Na de bloei verschijnen verse, lichtgroene bladeren die het hele jaar groen blijven. Dubbelloof wordt slechts 5-10 cm hoog maar heeft grote decoratieve waarde. Perfect voor natuurlijke schaduwtuinen en bostuinen waar een subtiele voorjaarsbloei gewenst is.

##  Belangrijke zaken om te weten 

### Waar plaatsen

Dubbelloof groeit het beste op een voedselarme, vochtige en zure grond op een plaatsje in de schaduw tot halfschaduw.  
Plantdichtheid: 8 - 11 per m²

### Onderhoud

Plant dubbelloof in (half)schaduw onder bomen of struiken in humusrijke, goed doorlatende maar vochtige grond. De plant imiteert natuurlijke bosomstandigheden.

Geen bijzonder onderhoud nodig - laat oude bladeren gewoon staan als natuurlijke mulchlaag. Plant breidt zich langzaam uit via worteluitlopers.

Water tijdens droge voorjaarsperiodes, maar vermijd wateroverlast in winter. Een laag bladcompost in najaar wordt gewaardeerd maar is niet essentieel.

### Dit wist je nog niet:

Dubbelloof speelt belangrijke rol in bosecoayatemen als vroege voedselbron voor insecten. De plant is indicatorsoort voor gezonde, oude bosgronden met stabiele omstandigheden.

Historisch werd dubbelloof gebruikt in de kruidengeneeskunde voor leveraandoeningen, vandaar de naam. Tegenwoordig vooral gewaardeerd om botanische waarde en voorjaarsbloei.
