# Cipressenkruid

## Santolina chamaecyparissus

Cipressenkruid (Santolina chamaecyparissus) is een aromatische, zilvergrij­ze struik die perfect past in mediterrane tuinen. Deze 30-60 cm hoge plant heeft fijnverdeelde, wollige bladeren die een sterke geur afgeven en gele knopvormige bloemen in de zomer.

De zilvergrijze kleur en compacte groei maken cipressenkruid ideaal voor borders, als haagje of in containers. De plant behoudt zijn decoratieve waarde het hele jaar door. Perfect voor droge tuinen en zonnige borders.

##  Belangrijke zaken om te weten 

### Waar plaatsen

Plant het cipressenkruid op een open plaats in de volle zon. De plant verkiest een kalkrijke, droge bodem met grind. Plantdichtheid: 6 - 9 per m²

### Cultivars (Soorten)

'Lambrook Silver' heeft een decoratief zilveren blad en kleine bloempjes.

### Onderhoud

Plant in volle zon op goed gedraineerde, liefst arme grond. Cipressenkruid verdraagt droogte uitstekend maar heeft hekel aan natte voeten, vooral in winter.

Snoei jaarlijks in april om compacte vorm te behouden. Knip bloemen weg als je de zilverkleur wilt behouden. Bemesting niet nodig.

Bescherm in strenge winters met vlies. Plant herstelt zich meestal goed na terugvriezen.

### Dit wist je nog niet:

Cipressenkruid is perfect voor mediterrane tuinstijlen en droogtebestendige borders. De aromatische geur houdt insecten op afstand.

Uitstekend als lage haag of border­afscheiding. De plant combineert mooi met lavendel en andere mediterrane planten.
