## Chrysanthemum sp.

Chrysant (Chrysanthemum) is een veelzijdige bloemplant die van augustus tot november de tuin vult met kleurrijke bloemen.

Deze diverse plantenfamilie omvat zowel eenjarige als vaste soorten in alle kleuren behalve blauw. Van kleine pompons tot grote decoratieve bloemen. Chrysanten zijn de bloemen van de herfst en brengen kleur wanneer veel andere planten al zijn uitgebloeid. Ze zijn beschikbaar als potplanten, snijbloemen en tuinvaste vormen.

##  Belangrijke zaken om te weten 

### Waar plaatsen

Chrysanten zijn slokoppen die houden van een voedselrijke bodem. Ze genieten van een plaatsje in de volle zon met een goed doorlatende bodem die steeds wat vochtig mag zijn. Plantdichtheid: 1 - 3 per m².

### Cultivars (Soorten)

Sterke soorten zijn ‘Emperor of China’, ‘Dixter Orange’ of ‘Dernier Soleil’.

### Onderhoud

Plant tuinvaste chrysanten in voorjaar in volle zon op goed gedraineerde grond. Potchrysanten zijn meestal niet winterhard - gebruik als seizoenskleur.

Water regelmatig maar vermijd wateroverlast. Chrysanten houden van vochtige maar goed gedraineerde grond. Knip verwelkte bloemen weg.

Knip tuinvaste soorten na bloei terug. Mulch voor winterbescherming. Deel overwoekerde planten in voorjaar.

Chrysanten zijn symbolen van herfst en langlevigheid in veel culturen. Ze bieden essentiële late nectar voor overwinterende insecten.

Verschillende bloemvormen creëren variatie: pompon, decoratief, enkele bloemen, spider-types. Elke vorm heeft zijn eigen charme en tuintoepassing.
