# Chinese vernisboom

## Toxicodendron vernicifluum

Chinese vernisboom (Toxicodendron vernicifluum) is een opvallende boom die bekend staat om zijn spectaculaire herfstkleur en zijn historische gebruik voor het maken van lak.

Deze boom wordt 8-15 meter hoog en heeft grote, samengestelde bladeren die in de herfst prachtig oranje-rood kleuren. Waarschuwing: Alle delen van deze boom bevatten urushiol, een stof die ernstige huidirritatie kan veroorzaken bij contact. De plant mag alleen door ervaren tuiniers gehanteerd worden.

De boom heeft grote sierwaarde door zijn architecturale bladeren en herfstkleur, maar vraagt voorzichtigheid bij verzorging. Voor complexere boomprojecten is professionele begeleiding noodzakelijk.

##  Belangrijke zaken om te weten 

### Waar plaatsen

De Chinese vernisboom is een zeer mooie solitair. Hij groeit het best op een beschutte plaats, gericht op het zuiden of het westen, in de volle zon. Verder stelt hij weinig eisen aan de bodem.

### Onderhoud

**Alleen voor ervaren tuiniers met juiste beschermingsmiddelen.** Draag altijd handschoenen, lange mouwen en oogbescherming bij verzorging.

Plant op zonnige locatie in vruchtbare grond. Boom is winterhard maar vraagt beschutte plek uit de wind. Water regelmatig eerste jaren.

Snoei alleen indien noodzakelijk in winter. Laat alle snoeiafval professioneel verwerken - niet op composthoop!

### Dit wist je nog niet:

Chinese vernisboom is een specialistische plant die alleen door ervaren tuiniers gehanteerd moet worden. De spectaculaire herfstkleur maakt hem waardevol voor grote tuinen, maar veiligheid staat voorop.

Historisch zeer belangrijk in Azië voor lakproductie. De boom heeft culturele waarde maar vraagt respect en voorzichtigheid bij alle handelingen.
