# Bonte esdoorn

## Acer pseudoplatanus 'Brilliantissimum'

De bonte esdoorn is een kleine loofboom die langzaam groeit en perfect geschikt is voor een kleinere plek. De bladeren lopen opvallend uit in roomgeel met een roze gloed. In de zomer verkleurt het blad naar wittig met groene nerven. Na het ontluiken van de bladeren verschijnt de weinig opvallende bloei. De bloemen zijn geelgroene hangende trossen die later de gevleugelde nootvruchten vormen.

##  Belangrijke zaken om te weten 

### Waar plaatsen

De boom is niet bodemspecifiek. Zorg enkel dat de standplaats niet te nat is. Hij is goed bestand tegen zeewind.

### Cultivars (Soorten)

De bonte esdoorn Acer pseudoplatanus 'Leopoldii' vormt een grote piramidale boom van meer dan 15 m hoog met gespikkeld blad. Hij is ook goed bestand tegen (zee)wind.

### Onderhoud

Je kan zelf kiezen of je de bonte esdoorn snoeit of niet. Wanneer je de kroon eerder compact wil houden kan je de kroon jaarlijks bijsnoeien. Dit doe je in het voorjaar, wanneer het gevaar op vorst geweken is. De bonte esdoorn kan je ook knotten. Dit doe je op hetzelfde tijdstip als het snoeien. Je knipt hierbij de takken 10 cm boven de knot af.
