# Arctanthemum

## Arctanthemum arcticum 'Roseum'

De arctanthemum groeit bodembedekkend en laat zich goed combineren met andere planten. In september - oktober verschijnen de roze bloemen met een geel hart. De bladeren zijn donkergroen en sterk uitgesneden.

Verkiest een zonnige, open standplaats en een bodem die niet te droog en niet te voedselarm is.

Arctanthemum arcticum 'Schwefelglanz' heeft zwavelgele bloemen.

### Onderhoud

Arctanthemum is een onderhoudsvriendelijke kustvaste plant die perfect gedijt in Vlaamse tuinen. Plant arctanthemum in volle zon op goed gedraineerde grond. De plant verdraagt zowel droge als licht zilte omstandigheden uitstekend, waardoor hij ideaal is voor kusttuinen en droge borders.

Geef matig water - te veel vocht kan wortelrot veroorzaken. Knip regelmatig uitgebloeide bloemen weg om de bloeiperiode te verlengen van augustus tot oktober. Snoei de plant in het vroege voorjaar (maart) terug tot ongeveer 10 cm boven de grond voor compacte, bossige groei.

Arctanthemum is matig winterhard tot ongeveer -10 °C. In koudere gebieden mulch je de plant in de winter met compost of dek af met vlies. Deel oudere planten elke 3-4 jaar in het voorjaar om ze vitaal te houden. De plant zaait zich soms zelf uit op geschikte standplaatsen.
